Kunstenfestival Watou 2011 - Tussen taal en beeld verzamelde verhalen #3 09.07.2011 - 11.09.2011

Art Festival Watou is more than just an exhibition between language and image. Under the title SUMMER SENSES we plan various events during the ten consecutive weekends: mini-happenings and meetings with other art- and culture disciplines all focusing on the theme of this year. We for instance plan an interesting reading session by Frederik Willem Daem, words and melodies that make you dream by Parlevink, an intimate performance by Benjamin Vandewalle, an afternoon filled with writing and illustrating at the Postfabriek by Flore Deman and Lize Spit, a surprising performance by Roy Aernouts and a session by Clean Pete bringing wonderful Dutch songs. Furthermore our very much appreciated concepts The Wall, the Poetic Cinema and the Hall of Fame will again all be there for the visitors to explore.
This year the activity book especially designed for children to help them discover the art and poetry on the parcours, is created by illustrator Kristof Devos.

Some of the other artists joining us this summer:
Wim Helsen, Athos Burez, Benjamin Vandewalle, Barbara Rottiers, Katharina Smets, Inne Eysermans, Joke Devynck, Delphine Lecompte, Sabien Clement, Michaël Vandebril, Max Temmerman and Tom Liekens

And of course our Festival House (where the festival shop is located as well) will again be a vibrant location for summery coziness and interesting meetings.
